Default Silicone?

I was wondering why nobody seems to use silicone tubing? It seems to be really flexible and seemingly widely available so i was just wondering if its because of its milky colour or is it something else? Just wanted to ask because im considering going for silicone.

thanx:)

I used to have some of the older Primochill stuff which I think was silicone because it was pretty damn soft and kinda sticky. Dust collected on it like crazy and was hard to wipe off. Not exactly the best tubing out there. Heck I am using it during the filter test. That is what is connected to the filter in the other thread.
