My System Specs

Default can I use an old plastic bottle for a res?

Every time I look in my case I see a different way to do things ( kind of spooky), and the same happened to me today the only thing holding me back is a Y and a T fitting I just cannot seem to find a Y fitting with out having to order one , I found a bottle ( plastic which still had a little Isopropyl Alcohol in it and I was thinking " why don't I just punch a hole in the bottom and put a fitting there and two holes close to the top with two more fittings the I just unscrew the lid and use a funnel to fill it? but the one thing that is stopping me is making it so the fittings won't leak is there any suggestions on how to make sure that the fittings are sealed or will this work at all?

Sure a bottle would work, the fittings would have to be siliconed in so they dont leak. Why not use a piece of PVC pipe?
Cap the ends, tap your barbs in, done.

Hmm I never even thought of that there should be less chance to leak because it is thicker .. thank you Supergrover for the suggestion

Yeah, ABS and PVC both tap really easily, and they're easy to find at any hardware store. Just make sure you seal the ends properly with something that's rated for the material.
