Default Question about Danger Den radiator barb fittings

I just got these things: Danger Den 1/2IN Polyethylene Barb Fittings 3/8 NPT
NCIX.com - Buy Danger Den 1/2IN Polyethylene Barb Fittings 3/8 NPT (Pair) - FIT-K200 In Canada.

On the barb fittings' thread, there is some white stuff.

Is it some sealant or something to fill in the gap of the thread and radiator?

Thanks for the help.

Not sure but I would recommend trading up for some metal fittings. Plastic ones are easier to collapse if you overtighten your clamps and to be quite frank, plastic on plastic is a right b***h to work with. The tubing will STICK to these fittings in a bad way, I have an old T that I can never use because I quite honestly can't remove the tubing without damaging the barbs.

Straight from the NCIX page:

Pre-wrapped with teflon tape for a leak proof seal.

Get metal barbs. Plastic is junk. Plus teflon wrapping can dissolve get in your loop, especially if you use some additives.

NCIX should have some.

Browse their water cooling section.

G 3/8 threading and 1/2" IN

Enjoy responsibly.

isn't g 3/8 is different from 3/8 npt?

I've checked NCIX, they don't have anything that is "specifically"
3/8 NPT except the useless dangerden ones
I just bought...

Anyone know of some kind of material I could just use around the barb fitting?

I don't care if the material bonds permanently with the barb, as long as it becomes
leak-free. Also, if should be a material that still works while there is some liquid around the target area.

BTW, does anyone have any solutions if problem is ****ed up threading?

Swiftech stuff isn't always quality assured back when I bought my radiator;
my swiftech radiator is pretty bad (chipped off paint, barb fitting hole/thread crooked...)

Are these for a thermochill radiator? Because Swiftech's AFAIK use G1/4 not 3/8.

If it IS a thermochill then the fittings I linked should be good.
