Smile P180 + 680i rig number 2 - WC

Finally delivered and installed the second watercooled P180 using Swiftech Ultra+ kit. Basically the same set-up as the first rig: evga 680i, E6320 (was E6400), 2gb OCZ Gold, evga 8800 GTS 640mb, OCZ GameXtreem 600W (was 700W), 2x 36gb Raptors in RAID 0 + 1x Seagate 320gb.

Temps were 24 idle, 37 OC'ed @ 3.0. Didn't have time to play with it more (the customer wanted his rig ASAP), but I believe that I could have gone higher.

SuperPi 1M: 14 seconds.

This is the last time I build a rig using the P180 - next time will be the P190 for sure. Though I did add a few holes to allow better cable management, it's still too small for such a WC package.

Here's a pic, hope it can give you all ideas too, like your pictures did to me.

Damn!!!!

That's a nice clean looking build, but does it ever look cramped in there with 3 loops going on.......... :)

Thanks. I know it looks (and it is!) cramped in there. That's why it's the last time I use the P180.

The loops are needed to have the hoses bend radii as large as possible, so as not to kink them. The coil springs really do help, but the size of the hoses (3/4" OD) and the relatively small case width doesn't help....

Ah! I wished, but I don't choose the cases - my customers do. I accepted to do a second P180, since I already built one and relied on my past experience.

But personally, the P190 will be the next one.

Nice build there Charlie! But you really need to get your costumers better cases (Bigger maybe?) for watercooling. Thats why too cramped. I would hate to work into that case.

Yeah, but from the sounds of it, his customers won't be mucking about inside the case.... that's what they're paying him the big bucks for..... :)

Almost right, actually!

Customers don't really "play" with their rigs, maybe remove the side panel to show off... and I don't charge that much: 10% prime of the overall price. It's more of a hobby than work. And I enjoy helping people and building those rigs.

But it's the last time I use the P180 with a WC setup.
