Default Pump is just too loud, can yo undervolt?

Will this damage the pump at all? I know its ok with fans, but what about pumps?

It is a DD CPX-pro, I have it on a foam pad with the rubber mounts, it hums above all the fans and vibrates the whole desk...

also the "3-pin connector" seems to be a waste of time, no RPM reading at all...

You need to find a way to stop the vibrations.

I have an old swiftech mcp350 pump and if it sits in my case it'll have a very annoying drone sound.

I had to take a piece of filter from my case and put a metal finger guard and put it on top of the foam then put my pump on that to stop case vibration.

Undervolting won't make a difference.

argh, when I had it in my shop I couldn't hear a thing so I just drilled some holes and mounted it up, at home, NNNNNNNNNNNNNGNNGNGNGNGNGNGNN and big holes in my shiny case dammit.

I have it on a 1/8 inch foam pad, so I guess I need it to be more than that...

Thin cases like my lian-li cause MAJOR resonance when the pump is on the floor.

These pumps NEED good insulation to quiet them down.

I found that the tighter mine was mounted, the more vibration hum I got. It almost needs some slop so the rubber mounts can kill the vibration. I just got a piece of Petra's gel-stuff, I'm going to try that under the pump and just zap-strap it down.

Ill try 2 layers of foam and looser nuts ( ) see if it makes a difference, if not maybe something more drastic.

its quiet, just makes everything it touches hum...

Try to avoid actually bolting it, if possible. Often, just the tubing will hold it in place, with a few layers of foam underneath to make sure the case doesn't catch any of the vibes.

I actually partially ziptied it with velcro foam. I never used the proper mounts for the CPX-pro
