gtx 285 water block

Which block do you think is better, the koolance block: VID-NX285 (GeForce GTX 285) [no nozzles] - Water cooling systems, pc liquid cooling kit, cpu, video card, hard drive or the ek block: NCIX.com - Buy Ek Water Blocks EK-FC285 GTX SLI Nickel Plated Full Cover GeForce GTX 285 GPU Block G1/4 - 3830046993755 In Canada. ?

They're both quite new, so I'm having problems finding comparisons of the two.

Wow, quite a price difference! Which are you leaning toward?

Phobia February 23, 2009 05:00 PM

The cheaper koolance one so far.

Ye gods, I hadn't been looking lately, but what the hell happened to the EK prices? Between those two, I'd definitely be grabbing the Koolance one. Never really had an issue with them myself, aside from the ano-Al top plates and ole plugs they used to have, and those have been well-phased out by this point.

I've got a pair of the Koolance ones on the way.

I hope EK have fixed shorting issues with their FC blocks, especially the ATI lineup. But that EK block is twice as much... too much..

I love the EK blocks for their finish and performance but its worthwhile insulating the block with fiber washers on the screws. 2 GTX280's and at least 1 4870 have died on this forum after attaching them without fiber washers (not supplied with block in these cases). Anyway I guess the Euro has ramped the price up? the DD look good at that price.
