How safe is this?
I am trying to use my FuZion v1 block on my LGA1366 rig. They still haven't released a plate for it. I didn't want to add any more waiting time, so instead of ordering a new block, this is what I've done:
I had some old 5.25" drive covers lying around. I rolled them up (too lazy to cut them) and slid them onto two of the screws for the block, and then added another pair of screws and nuts through the covers on the block itself.
The other two block screws are tightened onto the edges of the plate. They seem to give some pressure, but any sudden movement and it'd slip out of place. That's why I had to come up with something to make it a little sturdier. Got the basic idea from Linus' blog.
Think my ghetto mount will be sturdy enough? Will I even get enough pressure? I'm unable to test, since my RAM is still MIA (it was supposed to arrive today, dammit!).
That entire setup screams danger to me.
The tubing.. the cpu hold down.
Just get some fender washers (small hole, large diameter) and do all 4 corners.
Haha, don't worry about the res and fans. I'll be securing the pump with screws later today, and those fans are getting ziptied. I don't have the RAM yet, so I didn't want to secure them.

Hopefully it's sturdy enough to at least get the system going. I was just about to order an Enzotech Luna from NCIX, but then I noticed the Luna's LGA1366 bracket:

It looks like it would actually fit the FuZion, so I'd save myself a ton of dough. Might be worth a shot, although I have a feeling the pressure may be a little lackluster.
Funny I e-mailed them months ago and they said it would be soon, apparently not. I'll e-mail them again D-Tek needs to get off their ass on this one that e-mail I sent them was dated Nov. 11 its now the middle of January!!
Even for a C02 guy that H20 rig is looking a little dangerous, I'd hate to see or hear about anything going horribly wrong you have some pretty expensive parts there.

I guess it works, just need to avoid moving the case with too much force while it's on. Worst thing that could happen is it'll lose contact on one corner, but I'd still be getting fairly good pressure on two other corners, so temps shouldn't spike up to unsafe levels.
Either way, idle temps seem a bit high for water. Running it at stock right now. Does this seem too high for water to anyone else? It's the only thing on the loop, going to a 240mm rad.
