My System Specs

Default Cosmos S or Black Pearl

So, I had a small windfall yesterday. Came home with an extra $300. So now I can afford to buy a new case. I intend to do an internal mount build using the parts in my sig.

So help me decide, Cosmos S or Black Pearl? Same price.

NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster Cosmos S Black E-ATX Aluminum Case 7X5.25 4X3.5INT Front USB & Sound - RC-1100-KKN1 In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy Tagan Black Pearl Full Tower E-ATX Case Black 7X5.25 8X3.5INT No PS Side Window - BLACKPEARL/10070 In Canada.

Thanks.

The black pearl is a beautiful case, but would require some modding to do an internal install.

How much work did you want to do?

Black Pearl isn't worth it to much work to do anything with it.

I could go mesh fronts on the drive bays, mount a 240mm rad there like I did with my 900, mount to the top blow holes with minor work, or remove HD cage or 2 and mount on the bottom.

Of course, there would be minimal work on the Cosmos, and the only thing I don't like about it (mesh window) could fixed with an order off Newegg for $34.

What I'd really like is to be able to afford a Murdermod TJ07 case, but that ain't happening soon.

But modding it makes it worth every penny!!..

Sugar those are 2 very nice cases you picked man.. Well if you really see, modding the black little bit, you can get at least 2 radiators mounted inside easily.. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...pearl-log.html

On the other hand the Cosmos S is a beautiful case.

NCIX had a sale on the Cosmos S for $250 NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster Cosmos S Black E-ATX Aluminum Case 7X5.25 4X3.5INT Front USB & Sound - RC-1100-KKN1 In Canada. which seems to be expired, but if you add it to cart, you still get that price with a note of c/o in 4 days.

edit: just read your post above.. I think the Tagan might be your kind of case.. If you look on overclock.net in the case mod work logs section, you should be able to find some logs on both cases which might help..

I couldn't help myself. I picked up a Cosmos S today on the way home, NCIX Langley had some right out front.

I think the Black Pearl is still a killer case, but I'd have to do a bit of work to it, while the Cosmos is a bolt-on internal install. I might need a couple of new tubing runs, but that's it.

Worklog to follow. And a FS thread to get rid of my 900 and other spare parts.

249 + tax. The wife wasn't too happy.

Off to pick up some of those red & black YL's now, and some fan grills.

If you want cheap grilles stop by the electronics shop across the street from ncix.

They have black ones or used to.
