Default Pump Issues

I just finished putting togetehr my new water coolign build and was bleeding the lines all was going well and suddenly the pump just stopped.

I used an old AT power supply to run pump, it was going well I had filled lines and was waiting to jsut bleed last air out and it just stopped.

I was goign to drain system and RMA pump, unless anyone can think of anything?

Its a MCP350 with XSPC top. I gave it short on/off to not run it dry, ensuring I refilled rez each time i gave it some juice.

Any ideas would be helpful, I will be gone for a few days but I have to deal with it when I am back, I will check for posts then.

Happy holidays!!!

The rest of the computer is still working fine?

While a little troublesome, if it won't start back up again, dismantle the loop and put the stock top back on, to see if it'll work then (don't run it dry, of course).

I have disassembled the loop abnd tried the pump its dead as a door nail. The PSU was only running the pump at the time. So it RMA time.

TY for your replies, this oradeal has turned out to be a nightmare experience.

My video card is now dead as well, mobo reports it will not initialize, replaced the stock fan. The fan does spin well, possibly why it will not init. Odd part is I have replaced the stock cooler many times on a Vid card, its no big deal. I could have blown it but doubtful.

Anyway will rma the pump and sell WC stuff at 40c on the dollar, chuck it up as R&D. I also switch components way too often, man each change is such an ordeal and I upgrade every 6 months or so. Well usually something gets upgraded.

I will put it up all forsale in the FS section next week.

Well guess I will see how fast HIS rma service is.

1)sometimes the molex connector get loose pins an no power going to pump, also some PSU need load to work, use an old HDD and pump.
was the 0-ring installed on xspcs top ? sometimes will stick to org top

2) the vid card posible is shortted out or broken trace

had you opened any holes in the card ?

what type of T.I.M. used and where gpu/mem?

I am still having issues with my computer, its been reloaded with fresh Vista64, and I have random hard locks and crashes with a new Sapphire HD4780. This could be the worst legacy in my computer geek career, and that spans back to the first 486 DX33 I ever built.

But thanks for the post Chilly.

1. I tried 3 different PSUs, I am sure it wasnt a Molex issue. I never tired the extra load as it worked for 20minutes then died. The O ring was with the pump, the top did not come with one of its own, and the instructions were very clear on making sure it was in place when the new top was installed. You could even see it compressed around the clear top, so I am sure it was in the right place.

2. Yeah I figure thats what it was, the block was a pain as it could be tightened too much and thats possibly what I did, I was very careful and only tightened opposing screwed quarterish turns at time. I opened no new holes the block used same as fan/HS, just a few less. I used AS/5 all aound with very small amounts on vid card. Infact I was intensly careful when I removed block to see if the TIM had caused issues but as before I have a nice small round amount on the chips, barely covering them. I would have complimented the TIM coverage had it all worked. I am of the small grain of rice in middle of chip guy, not a glob and spread guy. I used a very very small amount on vid card ram chips.

It was fun, but I laso learned that evwen simple change to your config would become alot of extra work.

The good news is, I absolutely love the NZXT fan controller, that I am keeping.
