Does anyone know what the thermal conductivity of the thermal pad is ?

Do you need to put pads on the pulse chips (see below)?

EK says you don't in the EK4870 FC instructions but I'm not sure I believe them.

Do you don't, they actually don't make any contact with the cooler. I am not at home, I wish I could get you some pics (and all the pics I took are DEAD!! because maxupload decided to shut down.. crap)..

But you only put the pads on what's shown in the manual.

Any luck installing yet? Im still waiting for the pump before doing mine.

Vortex told me the 3870 Ek blocks hes using have felt washers Really does make me wonder if EK has overlooked potential screw shorts with the 4870 block.

Anyway I've cut some electrical tape to make some non-conductive washers and will hope for the best.

No I haven't really got a chance yet.. sorry.. I really hope they haven't starting not including stuff to cut down costs, would be really foolish from them.

Yea it does seem kind of odd and a little frustrating for such a well machined block. I should be ready to go on Friday. Im sure we'll be fine with that extra precaution.

Yea Sugar sent me some of those washers in the mail on Tuesday (thanks to him).. but it hasn't arrived yet, and my friend will be over tomorrow, so we will be putting the system up.. no washers.. oh nooezz...

If it's not an X2 should be easy but if it is good luck finding an EK. you'll have to wait or go for the DD like I am. lol
