The sensor movement should be fine, well within the "normal" range. Do both of the core temperatures match (within a few C) or is one crazy while the other seems proper. I know a lot of the 45nm's have screwy temp sensors so that might be the issue. Also, make sure you don't have too much thermal paste, you could try remounting it as well. Only other thing I can think of is maybe an airbubble somewhere in the rad or waterblock. Try tilting your case around and see if any bubbles pop up anywhere. Good luck.

38mm fans will be better than 25mm fans with the same CFM as they will provide better static pressure. Unless he has gotten the lowest CFM fans possible, and undervolted them, that should be plenty for an 8400.

I have the Scythe Ultra Kaze fan on it. (link: NCIX.com - Buy Scythe Ultra Kaze 120MM High Static Pressure Silent Fan 38MM 1000RPM 44.4CFM 19.8DBA - DFS123812L-1000 In Canada.)

Okay, I'll tilt my case a bit and see what will happen. I should shut down first, shouldn't I? (Oh and the temps for the two cores are always the same as each other in Real Temp)

Not necessarily true.

25mm fans with static pressure can work better than a 38mm fan because there will be less of a dead spot for the 25mm than the 38mm fan.

But good luck finding a 25mm fan that has higher static pressure than a 38mm fan with similar CFM/noise levels.

Depends on the rad tho.

Some rads like more static pressure than others.

I think this could be a result of the wrong fan with improper thermal paste applied.

Also out of curiosity did you just throw the loop together and start using it? Or did you clean everything properly before using it?

Have you tried remounting it? Perhaps it isn't getting enough contact... Or maybe your chip sucks ALOT.

Well, since I'm going to Calgary tomorrow, I'll have to remount my CPU block next week. I also have to change one length of tubing, because I didn't put enough slack, so its almost slipping off the CPU block. Thanks for all your help, guys.

How can it slip off the barb. Don't tell me you didn't add clamps...

Uhh, nope, I didn't use clamps. But I was using 7/16" tubing with 1/2" barbs, so it was tight enough.
