No offense was taken. It was a more than fair question.

Great review :)

Still not a huge fan of multicard setups, but looks like they're getting better ...

In our opinion a pair of HD4850 cards really hits a sweat spot in the price / performance category.
Sweet spot my friend, not sweat spot. I can't believe it SKY, you just had to tease us with the ending... BTW great roundup.

why are ATI's cards consuming so much power when idiling? Is it fixable through drivers?

Great review SKY, So I wonder how a 4870 1GB and a 4870 X2 2GB would be like in a Crossfire. How can you tease us with that ending.
When is the review on the 4870 X2, like maybe tomorrow. Hope its before I leave, going to be gone for 5 weeks.

Powerplay 2.0 isn't fully supported w/ current drivers, IIRC. It's supposed to get better w/ Catalyst 8.8, which should be out next week.

Great review! I really liked your troubleshooting section, I hope you didn't have to troubleshoot often cause that's quite the list to go through! But also lets folks whom haven't used multi-gpu know what a PITA it can be when something is a muck. Also too bad the SLI boards were kaput, would have been nice to see some numbers for comparison sake.
