4870X2 release date

Is the 4870X2 really coming out on the 12 of august?
Because usually with a release date so close most sites will have a pre order option for it.
I have my main pc that has been sitting here for 7 weeks now waiting for this card
Initially i was going to get a GTX280 but after evga screwed me over on the step-up i decided that this time around i will get an ATI card.

No. There will not be many cards available for purchase on launch day, expect to wait until the end of the month for wide availability.
