Default EVGA or BFG OCX 8800GT? Both at Futureshop for $150.

Future Shop: Computer Add-Ons: Sound & Video: BFG GeForce 8800 GT 512MB PCIe Video Card

Bleh i'm not sure should i go exchagne my evga for the BFG? the review here on HWC looks promising but i'm unsure what's the better card.

LOL you'd THINK that this is a nice discount, but it's regular price was $249 at futuresahop, it was already overpriced to begin with ! Who are they kidding.
Good luck finding one, they probably sold all their stock !

I'd go for BFG anytime - that's just me, I own one (BFG 8800GT OC 512MB) it runs great, it's quiet and it runs cool !

That is a great price!
Futureshops VGA prices are usually as bad as Staples from what I have seen.
You can usually save +$100 by ordering TD or NCIX.

GL on what ever you decide.

honestly, you need to check other stores before go toward to big store like bestbuy, futureshop, etc... local or popular computer stores such as ncix is much better and cheaper...

evga's warranty offers better bgf...

bfg steps up program better than evga

(please correct me)

Lol i checked around, NCIX had a deal like this for hte EVGA (which i ahve at home - bought two weeks ago, contemplating whether to keep it or go exchange it).
And the BFG i haven't checked around for it yet. But i believe the BFG OCX has higher clock & shader rates than the EVGA, i'm a noob at vid cardcs so iunno =/ which one has better performance ?
Since they both are at $150 anyways... and Futureshop is only a bus away, since i'm only 15 and i don't have my licence yet (hcek no learners yet either i'm a lazy bum ;p)

I have a BFG 8800GT and its a great card OC's well and like DarkStar said it does run quiet and cool.
for warranty its life time, I like BFG warranty more the eVGA warranty.
If you can get the BFG, but that's just my opinion.

if stock then yes bfg is faster... if you want to OC then depend on OC ability on both video cards...

another sugestion to check this forums such as hot deal... if you want 9800gx2 for $289 (out of $629) :drooling:

ps. IF you use the product that you bought from NCIX... then you have to pay 15% for re-stocking... be careful...

edit: evga can allow you to OC it or swap the heatsink without void their honor warranty... bfg didn't...

The evga i bought from futureshop so it's just a matter of exchanging it on the spot.

EVGA = 90 day step up program, warrants OC'd and modified cards (Removing stock heatsinks for waterblocks for example).
BFG = 100 day step up program, excellent customer service, but they do not warrant OC'd or modified cards.

BFG > EVGA any day of the week. EVGA warranty is over-rated as is step up from any company. BFG has better customer service and doesn't force you to register card for warranty purposes. EVGA Lifetime warranty is only good if you register the card with your original purchase receipt within 30 days of purchse. If you don't it becomes a 1 year warrranty and still only to the original purchaser. BFG warranty does not require any of this stupidness and is a true lifetime warranty.
