My System Specs

Wink Radeon 4850 + Accelero S1 Rev. 2 Aftermarket Cooler

I've received my Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 aftermarket VGA cooler today. I ordered the turbo module along with it. After putting everything together, I've received a GREAT reduction in temperatures on my Sapphire Radeon 4850 card.

With the stock cooler on Auto, I would idle at 80 and load at 88.

Here is my idle with the Accelero:

Here is my load with the Accelero:

This is with a 700 GPU clock and 1050 memory (2100 effective). The cooler is silent - I cannot hear any tone or rush of air.

This is a GREAT investment of $30-35 - does wonders!

I'll try to go higher. I've seen people on the net achieve higher numbers. I just put the Accelero on today and I've been re-wiring all my case fans with a rheostat so I couldn't play around with the 4850 much.

I'm going to look into flashing the thing so I can open some GPU OCing headroom in CCC beyond 700. RivaTuner won't work because I'm running a 64-bit Vista.

Those are great temperature improvements! But do you know if it'll fit on a 4870?

Yes it will fit, but obviously it won't be as effective since the 4870 would put out more heat. And naturally the Turbo Module (2 little fans) would be mandatory. Arctic Cooling also has their Twin Turbo cooler coming out. However, that thing has been announced a while back and nobody sells it!

Plus the Accelero is much cheaper.

Very nice temps, and pics by chance :P :D..

I thought AC said that the Twin Turbo Cooler would be cheaper than the Accelero (not sure where, but I remember reading it)..

So what are the best Crossfire coolers for the 4870? that take no more then 2 slots. I mean no more cause there is only a few mm between the bottom 4870 and PSU.
