Don't sell Charlie short. He has more insider contacts than many people give him credit for.

Like eVGA was going with Intel, they have been with Nvidia since God created us. Also, you can doubt that source, there is nothing that proves his point, just rumors.

Heck, I could say that Voodoo are making a new 3DFX card or even that Netgear are now making video cards! Someone in the inside told me!

IMHO a lot of companies like to use the INQ and their ilk for putting out "feelers" before they make a move. The GPU industry is probably one of the fastest moving, most cut throat industries around right now and no one wants to alienate any of their hardcore fans....unless they will gain 2-3 new ones for everyone they lose. IF enough people go "Gosh! Thats a great idea" at the very least eVga/BFG/etc can use it for leverage w/ Nvidia. Nvidia is losing the middle ground war and it has to be hurting Evga's bottom line so a big hammer like this would come in handy come negotiation time!

It wouldn't surprise me.

With the fact that nVidia's chipsets are going away and will be replaced by the bogus "SLI chip", I don't see why EVGA wouldn't want to get in on some Intel chipset action so they could continue to be in the motherboard business.

They may also be somewhat miffed at all of the recent price cuts nVidia is mandating and be looking at some options for the future.

EVGA is probably one of the best companies as far as support and warranty, so to have them doing Intel boards would be pretty sweet.

I don't think they would go Intel only, on their first card... What if Intel hit and miss their launch and the card is abysmal.

I don't think they would go exclusively Intel, but I can see them dropping the nVidia exclusivity to start making Intel's Larrabee cards.

Anyway, it's an interesting development *if true*.

Agree with that, but is there a company now that makes good ATI and Nvidia card?

Asus makes both.

I think Palit does too.

I completely forgot ASUS... One thing for sure, Nvidia has to do a comeback else company will seek other ways to make money.
