My System Specs

Default 4850 or 3850 XFire?

So, I am in the midst of upgrading from this 8600gt...i have two options, 2 X 3850's from a user (Cheator) on this forum, or a single 4850 new....any suggestions anyone? I want best framrates possible, motherboard is Asus P5K Wi-Fi Premium... 4gigs ram, E8400, etc... budget is @ or around $200

While this will damn me, if you budget is that high, then go for the 4850s.. thought you wanted as cheap as possible :)

I do wnat cheap as possible...as of right now i am leaning towards CFing thee 3850's...just want an informed decision

well I have not seen a review of the 3850 CF vs 4850. Although I would the the 4850 would be the better option because 1 card is less complicated and there are some games that don't see to much of an improvement from CF.

Yeah it depends on what it will be used for because CF is not supported by a lot of games. Check your favorite game's CF compatibility and if it supports it 3850 will be fine.

A single 4850 will be absolutely fine, not mentioning the price. You never had it so good right now : O

get the 4850 its almost as fast as the 3870 x2 and two 3850s are not even close to the 3870 x2 plus the 4850 is a single card so it will give u full frame rates where as two 3850s some times one card wont work cause you got to really on drivers if the driver isnt updated for the game u only get the use of one 3850! so the 4850 is away better choice!

Holy run-on sentence.

But definitely get the 4850. It performs even beyond the 9800GTX levels at most times. WELL WORTH IT!

ordered the Asus Extreme Radeon HD 4850 new from a shop in town, got the guys beat down from $269(WAYYY over priced) to $208+ tax....also there is a $30 Mail-In...so not bad overall...(yes i saw the post for the one $190....bah...oh well...new and next day shipping...i'm satisfied!
