Default 48xx Application recognition

Finally got my card and just tried installing the standard 8.6 Drivers (read that some where having grief with the "hotfix" drivers). I've also read that ATiTools, RivaTune etc etc wont acknowledge these cards yet. I'm finding nothing in EVEREST, RivaTune or HWMonitor but they used to recognise old card.

Will the "hotfix" fix this? Or do we have to wait for patches/upgraded software apps?

As I mentioned in the other thread, DO NOT use the 8.6 drivers. You will want to uninstall the 8.6 drivers and install the hotfix drivers by using the following method:

- Open the 8.6 driver installer
- Click on UNINSTALL instead of install
- It will prompt you to reboot. Do so.
- Reboot into Safe Mode
- Use Driver Cleaner in Safe Mode
- Reboot
- Install Hotfix drivers
- They will prmopt you to reboot. Do so.

The thing you have to remember is that ATI calls their Beta drivers "Hotfix". Unlike normal hotfixes, you should not install these over top of existing drivers. They are a complete driver package.

Hmmm changed drivers but still no recognition from my apps, will bench tomorrow and see if they improve there.

Neither app will recognize the HD4800-series. Right now the only application to recognize the two cards is GPU-Z.
