Default 4870X2 pics

Here is some more details and two pics of the 4870X2.

Radeon HD 4870X2 in the nude, 15% better than 4870 CrossFire? | NordicHardware

It seems that it will need 1 x 8 + 1 x 6 pins pcie connectors.

Hmm. This brings a question. Is this worth waiting for and canceling my order. So anyways. Will it be that much better from a 4870 CF to 4870 X2?

Its getting tougher and tougher to choose a card with all these overlapping releases
Im debating whether to ditch my order too and wait for one of these.

Anyway it seems this card has some advantages and disadvantages vs cf 4870.
rumors:
Main advantages
i) Improved scaling and communication-
ii) lower price at release than 2 4870's now.
ii) black PCB

Disadvantages??
i) Cores at stock are going to run at 4850 speeds
ii) its probably going to run very hot and will be more difficult to get affordable aftermarket cooling-this in turn could limit the overclock. Two slightly over clocked 4870's could then get close or beat it especially if ATI scales the cf well in the drivers and games release good patches for cf.
iii) Once driver issues are resolved the 4870 may turn out to be a better overclocker with aftermarket air cooling.

I don't need to have information which is under a NDA to tell you what to buy. The main focus is: are you happy?

Are you just buying stuff for the sake of buying? I'd say go along with your 4870 CF setup, because you'll be set for quite some time.

See the thing is it might be cheaper. So I don't know. And the 3870 X2 beat the 3870 CF in many benchies. Hard decision but I think I might go with 4870 CF. For one it will look cooler having 2 cards.
