Lightbulb Something I every missed,

I'm not sure if everyone was aware that the x2 6400+ runs extremely hot , but also has 2x 1024 cache versus the other amd's clocked lower and cooler with x2 512 cache.I do believe more cache adds to the cpu performance. It's a main reason intel chips are better for gaming currently.I personally have a x2 6400+ running at stock speed 3200 mhz. It's not a black edition, and I'm using stock hsf and it runs very hot.(60c under load) It has not let me down yet for performance and I'm hopeing to replace it in the future with possibly a x4 or x2 45 nm chip(if amd makes one soon). Or I'm just going to replace the motherboard and chip to a intel 45 nm e8500 like next year.

My System Specs

Default Well I upgraded....

Picked up a AMD 6000 X2 and Patriot PC2-6400 Enhanced 5-5-5-12. From CC in Kingston. Noticed a sustantial increase in performance from my 4600 X2.
The sales guy at CC mentioned that Monday they are receiving a shipment of Sapphire 4870 video cards for anyone in the area that is interested.
Now my issue is CPU temps. I tried the stock cooler and it's way too loud so I cleaned off thermal paste and installed my Zalman 9500. I still am having tempfluctuating from 52 to 65 C . I tried to more cleanups of thermal paste and installations with similar results. Referenced the Arctic silver site just to make sure I was doing things correctly. So I will try another round and see if temps come down. My old 4600 X2 ran at 48 under full load.
Oh and I picked up a LG Flatron W2253TQ as well. Have to take it back as there is a dead pixal right in the center of the screen.

just note that a 6000+ is a factory Overlclocked version of the 5600+, so load temp @ 52 is OK to me, but notwhen fluctuating like this.

its that with your zalman cooler???

Yes it is with the Zalman cooler. On my third attempt it now runs at 57C. But there is a 9 degree C difference between core 0 and core 1. Ie) Core 0 57C core 1 48C. I will probably reset it again tomorrow when i get some time. P182B case has lots of ventilation so I know it's just getting the cooler with AS 5 mounted correctly.
