My System Specs

Default Nvidia 9800GTX+ planned for 229$

Nvidia plans to lower the 9800GTX prices considerably (around 199$) to compete with the 4850, while at the same time will introduce a higher clocked version of the 9800GTX, called the 9800GTX+

Brings me to wonder how good the 4000 series will be

Maybe ATI lied about only going for mainstream to make nvidia think that they were coming out of the enthusiast market? I dun know. But still, I'd buy an 8800 GTX+ for that price. That's pretty much unbeatable right there...still waiting for next week though :D

The price is mainstream, the performance is not. ATI didn't lie, they're just raising the bar for mainstream.

Nice Mule!

It's great to see ATi back offering competition against Nvidia. I could see their development team working overtime to improve the R700 core and their cards.

ATi, actually pushing the technology envelope and price/performance ratio
