app for fps in game

Wondering if theres an app that records fps while game is playing for review latter?perhaps in a graph like form. Or maybe theres a better way to record that info.

A program called fraps (just became acquainted with it last week)- I don't think it graphs but records the data- you can just throw it in excel and graph it there.

Fraps is an awesome program, I use it and the nice thing is you can make little video clips of in-game action.

I find that for testing different setups, it's not the greatest way to benchmark as the results are inconsistent- you could run the same board of a game four times on a given setup and have greatly varied results- does anyone know how to ameliorate this?

Riva tuner is awesome - it unlocks pipelines, allows overclocking and gives access to "low-level" fan control - AND MUCH MUCH MORE

NVtray is one I use also. Has a great OSD which shows more than just FPS. I like to see my vid card temp and mem usage and what the game is using to render (Directx or OpenGL)

FRAPS was mentioned earlier - works great but only gives FPS in games (at least I think thats all it shows)

Fraps is actually quite accurate when it comes down the FPS. I've ran it withing two different games and measure the in game FPS and using fraps and fraps was usually 1 or 2 fps out, but nothing major.

The only thing about trying to use fraps as a benchmarking tool is that it is near impossible to duplicate the game play but you can get a general idea of improved or decreased fps.IMO.
