"While it would be an understatement to say Iím stoked..."

I think it would be an overstatement, no?

In any case, if it hits newegg or memex at same price as the 480 I may pull the trigger to upgrade a GTX560Ti in my HTPC.

Looks like a solid option for the lower/mid tier market. I'm really only interested in AMD putting out a competitor on the high end though :S

Great review as always SKYMTL. I am kind of with FreeKnight on this one but still interesting to see something new.

My daugther's PC currently has a 1440p screen with GTX 670. The card is still doing fine for most of what she plays right now (father/daughter Minecraft anyone?) but I wonder if moving to something like this would make sense? The 1060s never really interested me for some reason. However maybe the best option would be to wait a year or so for something that was high end and buy used.

SKYmtl may I ask why this review does not have the comparative summary for the cards tested per the resolutions used? I really appreciate seeing those simple charts. It sure is handy to point people to your review(s) and say "see, he shows 31% between them at 1440P" or something like that. In the past your reviews have shown these overall results and I am hoping to see them again. Thank you

I would second this request. Those charts are excellent.

Please use best performing API for performance testing. this method of testing gives misleading results. Nvidia cards are faster under DX11 API in games like Battlefield 1, Deus Ex MD and Quantum Break. What's the point of benchmarking Battlefield 1 in DX12 when everybody plays it in DX11.

Just a refreshed Polaris. Nothing exciting really. Not worth a damn for overclocking. I guess it would be good for the price minded consumer looking for a low end card. I just want to see some Vega action ASAP.

No. We won't be doing this.
