Well, our epic, 20-page review of the new Sapphire HD3870 Toxic Edition has finally been posted live and it is worth a look. Not only do we put the card through its paces but we also run the Vapor-X heatsink through some very unique tests.

As promised on page 17, I have also attached .RAR file containing three Rivatuner log files from our temperature testing of the Vapor-X heatsink. You can see this at the bottom of the post. Just to show I'm not going nuts....

haha, nice inclusion of the RAR files. very nice review and very nice card. it isn't often that a gimmicky sounding accessory actually performs well, let alone very well. good to see Sapphire knocked it out of the park with this one. you did a great job testing and explaining

Yeah, I felt I needed the file with the temperatures since I myself didn't believe the results. While alot of the times us reviewers ask the readers to take our results "at face value", I think in extreme cases it is good to back results up with proof.

You guys may also notice the new tests:

- 30 minute in-game CoH testing with FRAPS (this takes FOREVER to finish but it really shows that the in-game benchmark is pointless)
- A TON more 3DMark06 tests
- Expanded Crysis testing
- Enemy Territory: Quake Wars testing

Oh, the Dam Innovative Award is DA BOMB! LMFAO! ROFL! Well, anyway back on topic. Great review SKYMTL. I was just wondering if the HD3870 is in fact 55mm, why doesn't ATi upgrade to 32mm for their upcoming 48xx series?

That card looks really good, but I think they could have made the design on the cooler look better.

Hey sky how well did the vaporX cooler hold up to the overlocking, did the temps stay pretty consistent throughout testing.

I think I mentioned this but the fan speed setting Sapphire used ensures temperatures don't go over 66C.

Sorry I might of overlooked it and if thats the case very impressive!! If sapphire simply turns that cooler around and pushes the air to the back of the case then we have sure winner here and probably the most efficient single slot air cooler on the market.

The issue with this card is the noise its fan makes.
