Heyyo,

Hmm, yeah I've read a little about that how it's going legacy with the AMD HD 6000 series when NVIDIA is still supporting the GTX 400 (Fermi) series... Sure, I get that they're focusing on GCN for their desktop GPUs thus they are dropping the HD 6000 series, but that sucks for anyone still clinging on to their older GPUs... is it possible to inf mod driver files on AMD like it is possible NVIDIA drivers???

Talk about confusing legacy layouts. Guess that's what happens when there are so many rebrands I guess.

Heh... did you ever try to navigate the lower end AMD graphics naming conventions? Seems to me they've improved lately but when I was on the hunt a few years ago it was damn near impossible to decipher one from the other and the fact that one of them started with a higher number meant nothing. :)

Sure, it takes about 1000 words to explain.

Heh... I was thinking a bit further back with the HD 4/5/6XXX line of laptop GFX offerings. T'was damn near impossible to decipher without taking a ton of time to go through head to head benchmarks. :)

I'm not sure I ever saw it before since I usually deal with NVIDIA at work, but the option for "AMD Minimal Setup" is absolutely fantastic in my book. Remote client sites with basically dial up make me want to cry. 12MB is bearable, 250ish not so much.

We'll see how Crimson does for me this weekend, don't see me gaming much till then.

One of the things I have noticed was that performance increased in counter-strike global offensive on my R9 285 at 1440p. I am not sure if that is from the DX9 frame-pacing improvements or the flip queue optimizations.
Another great aspect of the new drivers is that the software is so responsive that I could tweak my overclock settings quickly while in-game. Overall, I am really happy with the improvements in this driver.

The "per game" FRTC and Overdrive profiles are awesome!

A bit of corruption on the waypoint/map indicators in GTAV and Fallout 4, hopefully there is an update soon to fix that. There is a community fix already, but I don't like replacing DLL files.
