Nope I've got the ELGEGXT-K. (SPD 3-4-3-8).

They're great for what they're rated for, but I've yet to see anybody running them above 260.

I did manage to tighten the extended settings quite a bit. That gave me a boost in super-pi at least. (Don't know how that would relate to real world apps).

Good to hear that you're getting some use out of that vid card. I don't do any FPS gaming so it's all about eye candy for me, and I can't justify spending $400 on a vid card. (Prior to the 1950pro the most I'd spent on a vid card was $150).

I wanted to get the E-VGA one from Direct Canada, but it was listed as unavailable last week.

However, I'm kinda glad that the EVGA 8800 was unavailable because the MSI card had a few other things going for it. Not only did it have the instant rebate at the time, but when I received the card, it was actually the OC version. Instead of the listed 500/1600Mhz, the clocks speeds were 575/1700Mhz out of the box!

AND (if it can get any better!!!) the card was shipped with Company of Heroes instead of the pictured Serious Sam 2 (I already had SS2 for awhile now) COH was $45 at my local vid game store!

I currently have the card running stable at 621/1872Mhz and my temps haven't went over 75C yet. That's pretty much what my 7900GT ran at.
3d06 score went from 5146 with the 7900GT up to 9119 with the 8800GTS
Congrat"s on your card dude nice choice ....I"m green with envy.J/K

LOL! There MUST be something going on, because I bought my EVGA 8800GTS 640 from NCIX (deal at $398-$30MIR=365+tax), and my EVGA came OVERCLOCKED TO THE EXACT SAME SPECS AS YOU! So it seems that the manufacturers are playing the same game. Are they just BIOS flashing the cards before shipment or they rebadge the cards/change the stickers on box and card, cause I have the model number of a regular 8800gts 640 and got the "equivalent" of the "superclocked" version!!!

Thanks EVGA! Good tha MSI is doing the same for you DerekOldSchool!

Mine will go to 680, 1080 on watercooled, so there's no wall there, must just be a big bump. It is surprising that with such a hot running card that droppong the core temps by 40 degrees wouldn't have a stringer effect on the OC. Mine doesn't get any higher than 42 under load.
