Default X1600 Pro Crossfire or Single X1650 XT?

Well it's finally come down that the wife is kicking me off (her) computer, yes the system I have been using is the wife's since about 6 months ago mine died. So I'm in a dilemma, I'm building a cheap budget system good enough for me to play a few games that will last me a year, so here is what I have come up with. Yes it is S939 but I love S939 even if it is out-dated and hell with the prices falling I can get some great deals I will be using my existing case, hard drive, dvd-rom, dvd-burner. Here is the proposed setup.

Amd Athlon 64 3200+ Processor S939 Venice 2.0GHZ - $92.70

Sapphire Pure Crossfire Advantage ATX S939 Xpress 3200 - $183.60

Kingston HyperX PC3200 1GB 2X512MB DDR400 CL2-3-2-6 1T DC - $113.40

OCZ GameXStream 600W - $96.79

Now my issue should I buy two of this and run crossfire

Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro 128MB 128-BIT PCI-E Vga DVI-I Tv Out Video Card Lite Retail - $64.99 x 2 = $129.98

or a single

HIS Radeon ICEQ3 X1650 XT Turbo 625MHZ 256MB 1.4GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card - $177.42

Either way it's not a bad system for under $700.00

I think you may find that the 1600pros are not available. (check out the "bargains" thread).

Are you sold on crossfire? If not, you could ditch the crossfire board and pick up a nF4 board for a little less (I've always prefered Nvidia chipsets for S939 & S754).

The 1650 XT would be my choice, but if you saved some money on the mobo and ponied up an extra $50 (I know.... everybody wants to creep up the price when it isn't their money.... :) ) you could slap a 1950 pro in there that would kick A$$.

(Wish I knew somebody heading out your way.... I can pick up a 3700+ here for just over $100).

what's the difference between Sapphire Radeon X1950 pro and HIS Radeon x1950 pro or Asus?...
I would go with something like this: Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 580MHZ 512MB 1.4GHZ 256BIT GDDR3 AGP 2XDVI-I TV Out Video Card
at first I wanted to buy: Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 575MHZ PCI-E 256MB 1.38GHZ GDDR3 Dual DVI-I TV-OUT Lite Retail Video Card
But the other day I saw that it was out of stock so I decided to go with the 512MB one.
What do you say guys?

Oh, and a power supply like an Antec Neohe (430w) can power without no trouble a sistem like this ASUS AMD Socket AM2 Motherboard M2N-E, nForce 570 Chipset, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+ Socket AM2 Processor 2.4Ghz 64bit, Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 16MB CACHE 500GB SATA2, OCZ Platinum XTC REV.2 PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel, Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy, Freezer64 pro,HIS Radeon X1950 Pro 575MHZ 512MB 1.38GHZ 256BIT GDDR3 AGP 2XDVI-I TV Out Video Card ?
It's too bad that Antec p150 has only the 430w antec neohe version.

Recomended PSU for the 1950pro is minimum 30A sustained on a single 12V rail.

A good 18A multi-rail (on all of the 12V rails) seems to be sufficient.

I'd have a look at SKYMTL's 500w PSU review for suitable replacements. (Keep the 430W as a WC leaktest PSU.... :) ).

As far as the different brands of 1950pro's goes......

They're all pretty well according to ATI's reference unless otherwise stated.

The only real difference would be support/price/what's included in the package.
