Default Best purchase advice?

Despite all the complaints around BF4 bugs and game play issues, it's a game I enjoy. I am looking for a video card upgrade to enjoy better frame rates and eye candy for this game. I currently run Asus R280x with an AMD 8350 cpu, not overclocked. I would like to upgrade another level beyond what I currently have. I have been looking at the reviews on this site comparing a AMD Asus R290X Direct CuII OC, an nVidia EVGA GTX 780 classified and a Asus GTX 780 Direct CUII OC. I have read the reviews and was wondering if anyone has some personal experience with gaming using these cards. I am looking for the best bang for buck. I have some money available to treat myself and would like some honest feedback. I am currently gaming on a 1920 x 1080 resolution. I have no preference between AMD or nVidia. Just looking for a good card with decent customer service and driver support. I am not interested in the nVidia Ti cards and only wish to run 1 GPU not crossfire or SLI. The Asus GTX 780 Direct CuII OC looks like a nice upgrade for this game. Am I off base?. I am looking at spending around $600 Cdn. Feedback would be appreciated.

I run a 780 with 1440p. 2xmsaa/fxaa, everything ultra. Not sure of avg frames as I run v-sync, but it never drops below 60.

I would say a 770 would get you the same performance as I for hundreds less. Because of the resolution difference. But if you go with the 780 I think you'd average somewhere in the 80-100 fps range.

Thank you for your response. Are you running a Zotac card?

I would look into possibly buying a used 780 as they often go for $440-$460 shipped and you could look into EVGA (transferable warranty) of a card that hasn't been registered so you could do so.
I bought the Asus GTX 780 Direct CuII from a member here in HC for $440 shipped and he didn't register the card.
It overclocks real well and run it on my overlord tempest monitor 1440p at 120Hz no problem. Usually get 60+ FPS in most games using ultra graphic settings.

I have been reading the forums on the EVGA and Asus web sites regarding peoples experiences with the cards. EVGA really seems to be on the ball regarding product support and customer service. Asus does not seem to be quite as popular. I like both cards from the manufacturers. They both look like solid builds. Today I looked at the AMD R290's reviews and I have come across numerous comments regarding black screen problems and issues. I'm still not sure what causes this with the AMD cards. Performance is within a few percent between the NVidia and AMD products. Thanks for your feedback and comments. Much appreciated. Still researching...

If you don't mind used there may be some AMD cards coming for sale soon.
