SKYMTL do you know if the board design is reference? meaning will a waterblock fit on it?

I know it sounds odd to ask that question but with the clocks these cards are releasing with it may be a viable option to avoid the low binning issues with some of the reference cards on the market.

since many of those cards black screened or had the pink line failures not much higher then the 1050 core speeds or the 1350 mem speeds this card seems to have some solid binning going on.

may seem like a waste to replace the heatsink with a waterblock but for those people who want to avoid any issues it may be something desirable.

110% not reference. The layout is VERY similar but the components are drastically upsized.

It's amazing how the card has the highest load power consumption of all cards in the review, yet has the lowest load temperature of all cards in the review.

Are you sure you didn't do the temperature readings outside?

Man this gpu has ~almost~ changed my opinion on this gen of AMD. What a beast of a card!
The website is called Hardware Canucks, so I think we should use $CAD.

That's why you are not a moderator in this site.

Newegg.com - PowerColor PCS+ AXR9 290X 4GBD5-PPDHE Radeon R9 290X 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

$580!!! Now this is what I'm talking about! Perhaps 2 in CF and the new Samsung 28" 4K display ($100 cheaper from Amazon, not Newegg).

Amazon.com: Samsung 28-Inch Ultra High Definition LED Monitor (U28D590D): Computers & Accessories

$1860 upgrade but my God what an upgrade that will be.

You need 3 monitors and maybe a 3rd card to run 4K in eyefinity if its supported. Or occulus vr with 4 screens.
