Default Sapphire R9 290 4GB TRI-X OC Review Comment Thread

Sapphire's R9 290 TRI-X OC seems to have it all: better performance, a great heatsink design and higher clock speeds. But with a $100 premium, is it really worth $600?

As a miner, I learned that VRM temperatures are important. Therefore, no VRM temperature readings?

I was able to spend a bit more time that I normally do with OCing so there is that.....

Ironically, I spent about 4 hours playing Assassin's Creed Black Flag at those settings so I'm sure it's 100% stable.

I updated the intro and conclusion with some more info.

MSRP of this card is $449.
Retail price is $599.

MSRP of a reference R9 290 is $399
Retail price is $499

Retailers are taking advantage of supply / demand.

Wicked card if it was at MSRP. I'm really a fan of this generation of AMD cards...too bad for the crypto-pyramid scheme.

Also of note Sky, the beaver listed in the review is the Movember beaver. Not sure if its the same on all articles.
