Indeed Overclock.

I'm at 1051 Gpu / 1375 Memory.

I put a fan setting in Asus gpu tweak it hovels around 88c - 90c all day at 55% fan. Not much noisy it's okay.

Andrew Hazelden's Blog RetroMining Litecoins on an SGI O2
The link pretty much describes itself.
Not my blog, of course.

Btw for those of you mining on AMD GPUs. Have you gotten your BIOS optimized yet?

I'm looking to start soon (waiting on parts). But HUH? Why would the BIOS need updating? Are we talking mobo? I think I'm missing something...

He is talking the GPU bios. Some cards stock are awful miners, but after a simple bios update become decent. The 7970 DC and matrix cards were good cards but awful miners stock bios.

Are you referring to the ASUS 7970 Direct CU II cards? I have a couple and they mine just fine

For those who don't mind compiling, there's some gains from using the new kernels in Cudaminer github (no binaries released yet):

Code:
[2014-01-28 20:00:30] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 292.60 khash/s
[2014-01-28 20:00:30] accepted: 41/42 (97.62%), 292.60 khash/s (yay!!!)
[2014-01-28 20:00:35] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 292.08 khash/s
[2014-01-28 20:00:36] accepted: 42/43 (97.67%), 292.08 khash/s (yay!!!)
[2014-01-28 20:00:36] GPU #0: GeForce GTX 660 Ti, 246.02 khash/s
[2014-01-28 20:00:36] accepted: 43/44 (97.73%), 246.02 khash/s (yay!!!)
(P2Pool mining NVC)
I'm getting an average of +40kHash/sec over what I had before. My GTX 660Ti has a pretty simple "overclock" from cranking the power limit to 120% for clocks of 1032/3005.

My launch settings are cudaminer.exe -H 2 -i 0 -l Y7x32 using what I just got from GitHub before making this post. Ref: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?to...680#msg4805680

EDIT: My 8500GT also got a boost to 3.46 khash/s while not lagging my GUI

Looking to get into crypto mining with my old HTPC build. How does my hardware look? Thought I'd get started with Litecoin first... Could really use some tips...

Seems solid, but don't expect much profit. Most profit is made from day trading and when the value of a coin rises anyways.

As for how to start, it's really simple. Make sure you do a clean instal of the latest AMD drivers. In order to do that, look up DDU in order to remove the old drivers. Then you can download the coin wallet. Also look into CGWatcher and download CGMiner 3.7.2.
