Litecoin is still profitable. 2x 7970's should make about $9 per day after paying for power.

Mining based on current day profits is too short sighted IMO.

When LTC went from $2.60 to $1.60, many people shut off their computers. I bet they are kicking themselves in the butt now. The difficulty dipped under 1000 at that time.

if you're just starting out and don't want to deal with exchanging alt coins for bitcoin checkout middlecoin.com or hashcows (not sure if they're taking new registrations after the hack). After you know more you can directly mine the more profitable coins & decide when to hold/sell them. Get on the train before it's too late.

So I have lite-coin set up and running (Not doing toooo bad on the 780's, 575kh/s per card, though the pool site shows me at 518 total.. :S)

How do I shift to a new coin? do I need a new wallet and the like or is it just like joining a new pool?

Also, I can't get anything to work other than : cudaminer.exe -o (ipaddress) -O (Account details)

cudaminer.exe -H 2 -i 0 -l auto,t9x16 -m 1 -o ipaddress -O account details

Just flashes up and gone again.. :(
Any ideas?
Also what version of Cuda miner are you using?

Hmm that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. But I'm sure there is quite a few hoops to go through before a new coin can be created and sold / Exchanged for real money.

Basically no.. But it's all about what people are willing to pay for them. You can start one but thats not to say you'll make anything off it.
