Would love to see battlefield 4 in your benches. The only game I really play currently.

Hey Sky, nice review. Two questions for you:

1. I just sold my 7970 and I'm pretty much decided on getting the 780ti GHz, I know the release date is sometime in December, possible early Jan. Any idea of when exactly it's going to happen? I'm asking because I'll be GPUless for the upcoming weeks, so I kind of want to know what to expect.

2. I'm curious to find out more about what your impressions of the G-SYNC monitor.

Thanks a bunch.

On the blower(reference design) vs non blower (every non reference these days) it totally depends on the case cooling and the space between the cards...

mine struggle with heat ( well the bottom one does) when I have them in the top 2 slots, space em out and they perform much better.
As for non reference, well if you have a side fan especially but basically any higher end case these days is good enough to supply enough air to the cards to allow them to breath.
That said it will obviously vary between rigs with different air-flows, ambient temp and most ofall how much noise you can stand.

The G-Sync monitor is a revelation. It's very much a beta stage sample and only 24" diagonal, 1080P but man does it make me want to replay every one of my games.

$99 to $149 more than the exact same model without G-SYNC.

I am in the market right now for a new monitor.

I'm currently using an old 19" LCD because my 24" display fritzed.

what is the timeframe for the release of these G-sync monitors. Will you be releasing a review?

Real quick, would you rather use a 27" 2560x1440 IPS monitor, or a 1920x1200/1080 24" with G-sync?

I'm just wondering if it's worth waiting for me to pick up a G-sync monitor, or if I should just go with a 27" in the near future...

Release timeframe is Q1 2014. I'll have a first impressions article up on Wednesday night.

If it's as smooth as is claimed and your mostly gaming then I would say go with the g-sync if you can live with the price and the 19" till they are out.

May end up getting this card instead of a 290x... Any word on when non reference 290x reviews will start showing up?
