That is also what I was wondering. I mean do they not state that you are to have the original heatsink attached to the card when returned?

had a water block on card when time to place original no screws to be found

I wasn't going to jam any ole screw in hole to mess up threads

that the reason why and they was informed about it

like I said before no problem with paying but damage happened in shipping department

as in pic of box no battle marks

belgolas: let me tightly wraps some bubble, packing tape around your mid section and arms see

if can move arms ? and had card total X-Y-Z surrounded by crushed paper

Just cos a box has no damage doesn't mean it hasn't been thrown around.
Especially with a box thats so much bigger than the card with so much packaging, it can move around without much force unless you have it really tightly packed.

As for the screws... what did you attach the block with?

Should have kept it separately packed. I'm going to go ahead and say they're well within their right to charge you for that, in this case. two parts can easily grind together even bubble wrapped up.

If the damage happened during shipping that is what shipping insurance is for. Go after whoever you used to ship and get your $45 back...clearly not worth it.
Lesson learned I hope. Keep all original parts and put it back together like your supposed to. Evga warrenty allows you to remove the heatsink but when rma'ing you are supposed to place it back on and secure it like you just bought it.

Honestly, I can't blame EVGA for saying it isn't their responsibility to pay/fix the damage caused by the heat sink moving during the shipping process. No matter how "tight" you think you can get with bubble wrap and tape, you cannot get anywhere near as tight as screwing it together. Only way to get it really tight with tape is if you wrap it around like 25x with a tape that doesn't really stretch.

It's not a cap for 1 it's a resistor.. and they are so tiny that chances of finding one that has completely come off if your not looking for it are slim and none.
