But that is bleeding edge, and those who can spend money on bleeding edge do so knowing the risks of doing so.

Exactly. Top dog hardware extracts a hefty premium always has and always will. I was kinda surprised at how strong Titan sales were, but obviously the market is there for ultra high end parts.

Titan was a prosumer card. It was to bridge the gap between professional cards and gaming cards. It still is a great card for double precision. Gamers who bought a Titan shouldn't be that angry because the card wasn't really meant for gamers. It is a prosumer card that just happened to own at games as well. My two cents.

As for Maxwell, I highly doubt we will see it anywhere in the first half of 2014. Knowing Nvidia, they won't release it until AMD comes out with something new.

Both camps are in dire need of a die shrink.

All depends on when TSMC is ready, AMD and Nvidia probably have had designs done for eons while they are waiting for the new process.

That is what I am worried about. I was thinking of waiting until Maxwell, but now I am not so sure. Plus I am getting the benching bug.

Yea, but really though, that is just adding to my heat and noise. Plus it is not the latest and greatest. We will see. I just wish the ACX cooler ones were out already.

Just wait for the BST thread to light up with people unloading those "old" 780's at or below those "old" 580 prices. Some things just never change, your at the top today and tomorrow your old news. The history of Tech.

^^^ I do admit I'm somewhat "irked" that these 780Ti Cards at $769 (for SC) are only 3GB VRAM.....pisses me off a little to be quite honest, considering the 680 Cards had 4GB VRAM for both the vanilla and Classy versions.....so now we wait and pay likely over $800 for a 4GB (or possibly 6GB) variant........really see no reason (other than Marketing plans etc), why these 780Ti Cards could not have come standard with 4GB VRAM......
