Well, I guess AMD weren't too happy about the 290/X not melting peoples computers down so they wish to double down on the stupid?

They certainly nailed the code names right. They need to code name their coolers "Banshee".

Edit: AMD knows Vesuvius blew up killing a lot of people right? Oh, and it's no where near Hawaii.

Still, it's a volcano, so it kinda fits with the codename Volcanic Islands, right?

Also, most of us are gamers; we shouldn't really be that offended about things being named after natural disasters that killed a bunch of people... over 1000 years ago.

ASUS would NEED to use the ARESII cooler on this...and beef up the rad!

The whole article reeks of TROLL though, so I dunno...

These guys have been right before GBA, but I see where your coming from. I think they will have revised the cooling by then, or throttle the pair of GPU's. It has made for some interesting times in the GPU market though. The AMD vs Nvidia contest just gets better, and that means better deals for us.

Dear god.

Jokes aside, I do respect them for trying, if the thing will appear to be real.

I was just joking around. But since you asked. No, Volcanic Islands denotes...um...Islands. So, no. Vesuvius is located on the south west coast of Italy in the gulf of Naples.

Hilarious that the codename is Vesuvius. The 290X x2 will come equipped with dual 40mm fans.

Vesuvius comes with watercooling stock, if it goes as planned. Just what a dual GPU card should have, IMO... You're already paying a lot for it, the cooler isn't the worst part of the cost.
