Default Suggestions for video card purchase

To play Battlefield 4. I have $500 max to spend. I have a 1920 x 1080 monitor. Would like to enjoy some eye candy with this game - Ultra settings if possible. Have had success with AMD, haven't used NVidea for a while, either brand does not matter. Looking for best bang for my buck. Obviously 3gb minimum memory will be a requirement and looking for a quiet cooling system on the card.

In that price bracket wait for amd r9 290 and 290x to get reviewed and then pick.

I'm guessing if the R290 and R290X are as good as rumours are making it out to be, they will be in short supply after the reviews..... I hope AMD has enough to make everyone happy when they go on sale.....

You could nearly get a pair of 7970's for that (with MIR's / sales).. I would still wait and see but yea, you have options.

Not sure how much of a performance jump you'll see from dual 6970's though.

If I go from crossfire to 1 new card, my main reason is the 3gb memory (or 4gb if I go with 290 card) vs 2gb that my current cards have. Single monitor 1920x1080 I should be able to play the game on ultra settings with less noise and heat. Yes my cpu is becoming a limiting factor...
Tick....Tock...I'm waiting for the NDA to lift....

Your really running out of memory at 1080?

Are you running high res packs etc or?

I was running a single 670 at 1080 and couldn't imagine needing anything more(for at least another year)..
Bumped my monitor up to 2560x1440 and then jumped on SLI 780's. Near double the res and I SOMETIMES hit the 3gb mark with everything max'd out.

No I did not run out of memory playing BF3. I just want to step up to 1 card with more memory and drop crossfire for now.

Jump on 290x.. $550 and over titan performance. :)

Stock will go fast though.
I would wait for a custom cooled one but it's your shout.
