I guess we will see what this card does but if they do release it at $699 I really had better be a great deal better than the 780 and 290x and 290.
You would be best served to slap some good aftermarket coolers on 580s in SLI as they are still a formidable weapon.

Any word yet on more rumors?

There's rumors going around that it's 2880 SP with 3gb and 6gb configurations. For $700, I'd bet it's the 3gb, but it the 6gb went for $800, I'd think about getting it.

Sigh the 780ti cannot use more than 4GB Vram let alone 8GB Vram. Don't fall into this Vram hype because it is absolutely BS that has not even been very well quantified yet.

^^^ unfortunately I think this Card will likely be around $750 at both NCIX and the Egg.....stilll a far cry better than $1100 for a titan ;)

Most likely it will be a bit faster than the R 290 x however with good cooling an aftermarket 290 will keep up with a 780ti. Plus you have to factor in Mantle and when that kicks in it will pretty much be game over for nvidia.
