Don't buy one is my advice... with the next gen AMD so close, we're sure to see some price drops when it comes out... that or you could buy my GTX 680 I'm trying to sell :P (reference)

As said above, the AMD's are just on the verge of release and I would expect price drops.

As for which one, Well that depends on their price and what your looking for.. my choice would be the ACX from EVGA or the DCII from Asus, depending on price of course.

giga windforce 3 is pretty damn hard to beat cooler wise.

but id also wait the month or so for amd to show their cards and watch the prices drop.

and i should add im not talking about looks or fanboyism.

most giga oc 7970's with wf3's typically oc'd further and cooler than the other mentioned manufactures offerings with less power phases, until giga decided to voltage lock the cards for what ever reason.

TPU posted this (not an official statement), Admin, feel free to move this to rumor mill is you wish:

NVIDIA Prepares Two New Sub-$250 SKUs, Price Cuts | techPowerUp

Quote from TPU:

Quote:
With AMD detailing its Radeon R9 and R7 series, especially at some very attractive sub-$299 price-points for the most part, there are jitters being felt at NVIDIA. The company is expected to unveil one or two new sub-$250 GeForce GTX SKUs around mid-October, 2013. The company is also expected to introduce price-cuts across its entire lineup, to make it competitive with AMD's. NVIDIA could tap into its existing GK104 and GK106 silicons to carve out the two new SKUs ranging between $149.99 and $249.99. The idea here would be to topple Radeon R9 270X. Price-cuts could be directed at the likes of GeForce GTX 760 and GTX 770, to make them competitive with the Radeon R9 280X, while in anticipation of the $599 pricing of the R9 290X, NVIDIA could rethink pricing of its $650 GeForce GTX 780, and $1000 GTX TITAN.
I'm waiting a few weeks! I want 2 x 770s for a good price!!! Or if they come up with some 760TI's or something like that! If the drop on 780 is substential, I just jump on that, more Vram being the trend....
