Default Advice on the GTX 760

Hey there, first time posting here, but I've been coming here for the reviews for a while!

So I was wondering about the GTX 760(or any cards around it really) and if now is a good time to get one, or if there might be any upcoming price drops, because I've heard that AMD is announcing new cards soon.

On more of a random note, it's really annoying how they're priced higher up here in Canada compared to the US. I know that's pretty normal for a lot of stuff, but I thought for computer components it had equaled out a bit more.

For the money, the GTX 760 is probably the best card for 1080P gaming right now. The closest thing from AMD would be the XFX 7950 for 200$ (AMIR), but quickly looking over some reviews the 7950 seems to fall upwards of 15 frames behind the 760 in some games. The upcoming 9000 series will most likely even things out against the 760 for gamers looking to fulfil that 1080P gaming sweet-spot.

Price drops for PC components from what I've noticed starts around late October to early November. Only a couple of months out, but you'll probably save a max of 20-30$ depending on what 760 SKU you buy; they have prices ranging from $250-$350. However, I wouldn't spend more than 250 bones on a GTX 760 when I can get right now a 7970 for 290.

And yes it is annoying. Same thing goes for vehicles as well.

Look at a 670 too... they are very similar performance so get whichever is the best deal at the time.

if you can hold off (and if Canada has it as well as the states) Black Friday deals are hard to beat.. but it is a few months away.
Up side would be that I would probably expect the AMD cards to have started to be released so you may get a price-drop and a sale (If black Friday applies north of the border)..
