What I was most curious about was the acoustics, although quite disappointed that it was only compared to reference cards. We all know reference designs are terrible. Why not put in the regular DirectCU or other 3rd party cards to compare?

Actually, NVIDIA reference designs are quite good in the acoustics department.

I wonder what a passively cooled or single slot 670 would perform like..

From what I remember the stock heat-sink was ... basic.. and small (not the shroud)

I just read that ASUS has released a 760 on the same size PCB and cooler. Not that the 670 and 760 are much different in performance, but its good to see that they relatively quickly adapted to the newer card.
