AMD A10-6800K Benchmark Thread - AnandTech Forums

Maybe you missed Durvelle adding "AMD Test Drive" to his sig after Vesku outed him in post 43 in that thread over on AnandTech.

It's no surprise AMD is denying this because what they have been doing is illegal if they know the people they give the parts to are posting about them without identifying themselves.

And frankly, I've wondered about YOUR posts here, at XtremeSystems, and elsewhere. Always around talking about the "great AMD parts right around the corner".
Enough.

I don't need jabs back and forth.

Maybe in the US, and even that is questionable as the folks you're talking about aren't blogging but are instead discussing what they've seen from the hardware they're playing with... they're not actually being paid to promote the product.

Anywise... we'll let that be the last of this chain of thought. It's already gone over the line for what we expect from our members. If you feel a person is being overly fanboyish then take it up with a moderator as opposed to flaming him/her on the boards.

The one thing I like about this line of discussion, is that it shows people that may have no idea that this happens, that it happens.

Woah... never thought my thread would turn into this. I love this forum my first build people were very helpful hope it continues in the same friendly Canadian spirit!! No reason to fight over video cards!

I was just curious on what to expect as a consumer and on what I should aim for as a consumer.

Yea... thats what I am leaning towards. trying to see if the gains over my 6950/6970 are worth it for me as a student on a budget.

I wasn`t fighting, I was making a friendly suggestion as I am in the process of getting one used myself. As for the next generation, they will be dubbed the 9000 series and from what I heard first product will feature some 20% more shaders than the 7970, but will be on the 28nm fabrication process. I think I read that at guru3d.

as a student on a budget.. I would suggest you keep hold of what you have till your not happy with it and then see what is available when you need an upgrade.

Generally there is new stuff out every few (3 -9) months. Not saying to go for the latest and greatest but your money will buy you more the longer you leave between upgrades.
If I was on 1080 and had a 6970.. I wouldn't be changing it yet.

All the feedback is much appreciated MARSTG :D

So now if the 7970 is 20% more than my 6950/6970 and if the 9000 series is another 20% more. Then it would seem like a big jump from what I have right now.

Yea Dzzzzope I think i will wait it out. Just some games struggle in big action fights... on 1920x1080 such as BF3 and SC2. I cant imagine what will happen with newer games.

Even the 7970 is a very solid jump (7970GE/GTX770 essentially is comparable to a 6990). I'm sure once the 9970 is out you will be getting Titan levels of performance for a much cheaper price.
