I'm not saying you do this because you don't. But, that comment cuts two ways.

Anytime someone posts a positive comment / review about NVIDIA, they're accused of being a paid shill.

The finger-pointing is everywhere, regardless of which company is being talked about.

And sadly there are many who take the hypocritical stance on this which in its own right gets us nowhere.
All I want is a non paper launch so we keep driving innovation.
Stagnation in any market is not good.

Several people happen to be very vocal about it when it comes to AMD because of that stupid advocate program. Apparently it's evidence that "praise AMD, get free products", which is exactly the opposite of the truth (they give bloggers and youtubers hardware to review, not forum posters, and it's for reviewers, not fanboys).

Anyone know which fabs at TSMC are supplying Tahiti? The foundry ID number.

No, they give forum posters hardware in return for the posters promoting their hardware in the forums:

Shouldn't Durvelle27 have to disclose his affiliation with AMD in his signature? - AnandTech Forums

More here:

"Would you like to be considered for the AMD Advocacy Program?" Free HW available ... - AlienBabelTech

These people are shills. They are shills because they do not disclose they have received the hardware they are speaking about for free.

BTW- how do you know so much about what the Advocacy program is and isn't?

I'm not gonna go in depth here because this is obvious flame-bait, but if you would read your own link it specifies that it is

Quote:
The Advocacy Program is an extension of AMD’s preexisting New Product Review Program (NPRP), which sends hardware samples to established websites (like ABT) for the purposes of independent third-party analysis. We hope to make these same inroads with new communication channels, like bloggers, YouTube reviewers and Twitter users, all of whom provide a unique and knowledgeable perspective that could add to the audience of independent reviewers already looking at our products in traditional press outlets.
This has been done by other companies before, and is WAY different than shilling... they clearly just want people who review stuff on their youtube channel or whatever to participate.

I know about it because I've probably seen this same crap posted at least 10 or 15 times between all the forums I frequent

AMD A10-6800K Benchmark Thread - AnandTech Forums

Maybe you missed Durvelle adding "AMD Test Drive" to his sig after Vesku outed him in post 43 in that thread over on AnandTech.

It's no surprise AMD is denying this because what they have been doing is illegal if they know the people they give the parts to are posting about them without identifying themselves.

And frankly, I've wondered about YOUR posts here, at XtremeSystems, and elsewhere. Always around talking about the "great AMD parts right around the corner".

That's a bit over the top don't you think? It might not be ethical, but it sure as hell isn't illegal.

It's been illegal since 2009:
