Hi guys,
I know that my video card is old, but it's loud and driving me crazy!
The stock HSF has in the past month become louder and has this distinctive mechanical noise that's become louder with it.
I have dusted it good with the air compressor and reapplied the thermal paste - no improvement (tops off around 84C in World of Warcraft)
I then found a video on youtube saying that the HSFs ATI used back in 2008 (Delta) could be made quiet again by peeling back the sticker behind it, and putting some drops of grease/oil into it. I used a drop of automotive brake lubricant. This made it even louder!
I then removed the fan and used some twist ties to mount a Noctua NF-F12 case fan, but my temperatures then went above 100C in World of Warcraft.

(This IS a Noctua. I just dyed it black)
So... as a poor man who is looking to extend the life of his old card while not going crazy from the noise (That noise, that noise, that noise, that noise, that noise, that noise....!) what would you recommend?
Thanks for your time!
