graphics dilema my brothers is parting/selling most of his excess hardware and current rig. 690 for 700$ or a titan for 725$ i wanna say the 690 but i dont know if a titan is worth that much with the new 780 nipping on its heals from the last review i read on the site |
What are you wanting to run with your equipment? What do you have currently? I know people always say "wait until next week" when it comes to computer hardware, but in the next 48 hours, the 760 should be released, and in the weeks to come, the whole nvida line up should be repricing to clear out old stock. Your brother sounds to be giving you some nice deals on those cards, but if you want to go that far into extreme performance, I'd sway towards the new 780, personally. But then, I'd probably be happy with a single GTX770 :bananafunky: |
i am currently graphics wise running a single 7850 so anything is an upgrade in that department. and due to some crazy fertile gifts from god he will be expecting triplets lol. jokes aside hes just downsizing everything and i'm like bleh because i do want to be able to game quite nicely on 1920 or more |
Titan at that price is good though. Thats not much more than a 780 once you add tax / shipping. 690 is your best bang for buck but the Titan will be best if you want buttery smooth frames. That said they are all overkill for a single 1920 screen. |
I'd go for the Titan at that price. |
Tough decision to make. The 690 is an awesome beast and so is the Titan. The Titan though seems to be the go to card for SLI with single cards. However, with the prices he's asking for I'd grab the 690 since it's 2x680s and it scales really good and should give you better frames compared to Titan once you go to 2560x1400P. On the other hand, you can grab the Titan for a signle 1920x1200/1080 and forget about it. |

May I buy the Titan? Titan would be the way I would go. |
I would buy the titan |
thanks for all the input. i'll probably go with the titan but the thought of grabbing another one down the road is pretty exciting. |
