Personally I'd budget $100 for a replacement PSU and then $200 - $300 for a GPU.

Agreed.

Shop specials also.

I picked up a Corsair CX600 Modular for 70$-20MiR last week-end. Even the lower lines of Corsair are still above these other brands IMHO.

GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev:1, Rev:2 and Rev:3

All PCI Express slots conform to the PCI Express 2.0 standard

you can buy a pci-e 3.0 GPU it will work but not at highest bus speed only limit to pci-e 2.0 speed

other is update your bios for your Revision of motherboard, look on the MB for Rev:x.xx printed shown in pic

for if you use the wrong bios update it will make system a door stop (brain dead)

due to using wrong hardware instructions like using a Ford part on a Chev

Rev:1 is F10a

Rev:1.1 is F10a

Rev:1.2 is FFa

Rev:3.0 is FC

XXX you didn't say what kind of upgrade ? single GPU or

multi GPU's SLi/Cross-fire by adding same GPU, if do need to upgrade PSU to support power to second card

If your buying in a month you will have to check prices when you are purchasing. Likely my vote will be for the soon to be released gtx 760 and a 650w seasonic/corsair/xfx/antec power supply. Obviously that is pending pricing when you are ordering.

760 is rumored to drop on ther 25th and cost somehwere from $249-299.

The specs are rumored to fall somewhere between gtx 660ti and gtx 670. But those are all rumors.
