NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Review Comment Thread

With the GTX 600-series slightly more than a year old, NVIDIA is now ready to start refreshing their GeForce lineup once again. The first card out of the gate is their GTX 780, a $649 GK110-based flagship which boasts performance that's within spitting distance of the ultra expensive GTX TITAN.

Kind of tiring hearing how "it performs more like a Titan than a 680!!!"... Well yeah, it's GK110, what was everyone expecting it to perform like?

Also, DAT NVIDIA FEATURE SELL in the conclusion. Did I miss something when Nvidia suddenly became better at multi-monitor support?

But anyways, overall the card gives awesome value compared to a Titan.

:shok: Wasn't expecting this to come out so soon.
Glad I didn't bite the bullet on a Titan.

Yes. Read the HD 7990 review. AMD's Eyefinity profile for Assassin's Creed III is missing and they are broken in Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3. I haven't included the games in this review but Eyefinity also has issues in Bioshock Infinite and Metro Last Light.

People with titants should have waited for that :D better bang for the buck for sure...

We'll have an SLI review after another NVIDIA launch, the Haswell launch and AMD's Richland desktop launch....so sometime at the beginning of June....

I hope AMD does not sit idle this year like they announced. The 7990 and 690 are terrible answers and the 7990 was too late to the game. This essentially puts AMD in 3rd.... and there are only two companies :S

Bumper few weeks for you so.. Am looking forward to the Haswell review. It very well may tempt me into a whole new build.

Hmmm, New NZXT 630, Haswell + Asrock Z87, 512GB Samsung pro, 16 GB ram, Caorsair AX 850 and a 780 to top it all off... hmmmmmmmm (cries at the thought of the price)
Though it would go well with Dual IPS screens (1080 secondary monitor)
Ohh dear god I have to stop thinking about this before I go out and blow my wages on something. My 950 is good, my 950 is good, my 950 is..... a feggin space-heater and it's 30c... With the air-con on.

7970 is still an awesome card for the price.. it's staying well up there.
One thing I would loved to have seen would have been 4GB ram on this and 3 on the 770.. pitty, though I guess most people won't use it anyway it just seems that a 6GB one will be near totally pointless.

Ok, here is the big question for me, would one of these be better than my 580 SLI setup? Now remember my 580's only have 1.5GB memory and I am gaming on a 2560x1440 screen.

Any thoughts?
