650TI Boost

Otherwise if you can find one with a good sale 660 is perfect.

Am I safe with the ASUS GTX 660 cards or are there others of equal or better quality that run cooler and quieter?

The 7950 might be wasted on my old PCIe-2.0 machine? Would the Corsair TX650 handle the load? I've got four internal drives.

I found an open box Asus 660TI for about $20 more than the 660. Hope this is OK for my system.

So how do I switch from ATI to Nvidia? Do I uninstall the drivers, then change the card?

Thanks!

Yes. Uninstall the AMD drivers via the control panel add/remove programs. Then boot into safe mode and run Driver Sweeper and finish removing reg entries with that. Shut down the PC, install the new card. Then boot back into windows and install the nVidia drivers/software. Reboot and have fun!

Definitely a good card. Its going to be great, but you will likely be CPU limited in many games. So down the road when you do a CPU/MOB/ram upgrade you should get a nice fps bump along with it.
