can gtx 580 run with 500w psu?
its a SilverStone Strider Plus ST50F-P 500W
I have read that 600w is recommended... but when I do voltage calculators, the system comes it under that number.
here is the rest of the build specs:
ASUS|P8Z77-I DELUXE/WD LGA1155
INTEL|CORE I5 3570K 3.4G 6M R
NOCTUA | NH-L9i R
my other pc's ssd needs to be RMA'd, and is kaputz for now. would like to game on this with my gtx 580 in the mean time. is it possible on this psu? I can switch psu's, but I built mini-itx and not 100% sure it will fit with the size of the gpu as well
If your overclocking that my put you into the 600W+ category.
If you wish to keep your system stable and happy and have no issues look at a good 650w or higher.
It may, but I wouldn't go above a gtx 560ti on a 500w psu.
80Plus Bronze not really 34a on 12v rail
your card uses 19amps fine for single card
dual not going to do it
at stock clocks you should be fine.
It will , depending on what else is running.
I had a 580 folding rig (Doing nothing but , no extra harddrives , no cpu load ) it was ~320 watts.
All it would do is run bf3
Should be good with no major OC on either CPU or GPU. Striders are generally solid, though the Sub 600W sometimes were FSP units.
