My System Specs

Default Evga GTX 680 Classy's

So, just got home today from work to a couple of boxes from NCIX....yep my 2 new Evga GTX 680 Classy's, which I Price Matched to $569 each.
I've only ran em thru a couple of Benchmarks, everything at Stock (except my CPU) and they absolutely "rock"!!
Huge gains over my 580 Classy's, I knew there was something to these Keplers!!! Anyhow, I can now play both FC 3, Crysis 3 and Bioshock with absolutely everything cranked at 2560 x 1440...smooth 60 FPS (VSynch enabled), temps are awesome, love these 80mm Fans....figured it was the right choice over Titans at $2400 for 2 ...ouch!!!!

Anyhow, check out BST tomorrow or the next day for an awesome deal on a couple of Evga GTX 580 Classified's...AR's..

No I havent, there was someone asking me a month ago about my 580's, gave hime a price, his reply was "if I get a good deal"...ha!!...hint.....50% off regular price

Anyhow, just ran these 680 Classy's through a MK11 Bench run...980X at 4.1 Ghz...680's at stock and pulled P17K.

My 580 Classy's OC'd large with my 980X at 4.6 Ghz would just crack P13K...very happy so far, great Cards!!!

Curious, why didn't you just get a GTX690 or a Titan? It's pretty much equal and would of been about $140 cheaper.

The 680 Classy's out perform a single Titan, as well as a 690. For my Dell single monitor SLi 680's 4GB made the most sense ;)

Also, didn't see $140 cheaper, by the time the dust settles on an Evga Titan SC your looking at $1200 to the door. With my 680 Classifieds Pricematched it was the same price for 2 to the door, same $$ better performance ;)

Good job man. I located 2 people that are selling their 680 classys for 500 each. I made inquiries and I hope they still have them. If they can ship them then all is well for moi and if not the 4GB from ASUS will do the trick. Cheers!

I don't know, my math says $569x2 = $1138, GTX690/Titan = $999. It just seems strange to buy a 680 so late in the game, especially 2 of them. It's been out for over a year and the price has basically remained the same throughout as far as I know.

I'm not trying to say you made a bad decision since what you picked is definitely faster, but I know a year ago when I bought my GTX690, I contemplated 680 SLI and decided not to as it was the same price and largely the same performance, but using more power and producing more heat. I run 1440p as well and the GTX690 has no issues running any of the latest games at maximum settings.

If I was to drop $1k on a GPU today though, I think my choice would of been a Titan with the intention of buying a second later down the road.

Anyways, congrats on the purchase and with the way the market is trending, it should last you for quite some time to come.

Hey no worries, I never buy a single Card with "plans of buying a 2nd", by that time something else is out ;)
Not a fan either of Dual GPU Cards, rather Gi with SLI

Power is a non issue coming from both Tri Sli 580's and Sli 580 Classy's, Keplar is just plain awesome from what I've seen with these. My AX 1.2 Kw is up for it ;)

Heat is also a non issue as these 80mm fans on these Classified Cards are great, Max Temps I see playing FC3 is 60c with fans barely audible at 45%.

Don't fret, not looking for "approval" or "disapproval" on my choice and I'm never looking at keeping GPU's longer than about 12 - 16 months ;)

Awesome purchases. I am still targeting a 690 plus waterblock. Only aiming for 120fps at 1080p though for the 2d lightbooost.
